Lisa E. Henry, 59, born September 11, 1966, passed away Sunday, September 6, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.
Lisa found joy in the everyday moments that made life meaningful. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and close friends, and enjoyed talking on the phone, sharing conversation, laughter, and care with the people she loved. She was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for mystery novels, and she brought that same warmth and attentiveness into her home and family life.
Cooking was one of the clearest ways Lisa expressed her love and affection. Her kitchen was filled with the comfort of family favorites such as hashbrown casserole, meatloaf, and loaded potato soup, meals that carried not only flavor but also the care she poured into those around her. She also loved spending time with her dog, Chops, whose companionship was a special part of her daily life.
Above all, Lisa’s greatest love was her children. Being a mother was her favorite role, and that devotion shaped the life she lived and the love she gave so freely. She will be remembered for her caring heart, the comfort she created for others, and the many simple, lasting memories she leaves behind.
Lisa is preceded in death by her son, William Chase Henry.
Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, Jerry and Doris Ellis; daughters, Whitney Johnson (Blake), Summer Henry and Christina Brandes (Jason); grandchildren, Ella Johnson, Evie Johnson and Everly Brandes; brother, Timothy Ellis; father of her children, Roy Henry; best friends, Cathy Jarvis and Tiffany Howard; and her beloved pet, Chops.
The funeral service for Lisa will be 4 p.m. Thursday, September 10, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Hope Animal Rescue Center, 526 Atkinson St, Henderson, KY 42420.
