Linda Sue Hayden Roby, 69, of Utica passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home. Born October 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Klispel and Lilla Tucker Hayden; was retired from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital where she worked as a Ward Clerk for 35 years; and was a member of St Martin Catholic Church. Mrs. Roby enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to the lake; and spending time with her family. She also loved her cats and dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Hayden, Jimmy Hayden, and Lucian Hayden; a sister, Carol Ambrose; and a granddaughter, Camryn.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Charles Vincent "Buddy" Roby; sons, Steve Dennison (Jennifer) of Owensboro and Scott (Lisa) Roby of Reynolds Station; a daughter, Debra (Roger) Evans of Owensboro; a step-son, Charles Allen Roby of Owensboro; step-daughters, Charlene (Leslie) Roby of Philpot and Dawn (Kenny) Terry of Pleasant Ridge; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Hub) Hicks of Livermore; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hayden of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Services are 12 noon Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father John Meredith officiating followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
