Linda Dale Pauley, 78, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. Linda was born in Houston, Texas to the late Tommy Dale and Ethel Marie Pruitt Zanders. She grew up in Crum, West Virginia and graduated from Crum High School with the class of 1966.
Linda worked as a doctor’s assistant for 10 years for Dr. Hargrove at the Earlington Trover Clinic. She then worked as a CNA at Leisure Years Nursing Home (Chataqua) until her retirement. She married the late James Harvey “Jim” Pauley on Thanksgiving in 1969 and they were married for 20 years.
Gardening and working in her flower beds was Linda’s passion. She enjoyed playing “Farmville” and loving on the family dogs, Snoopy and Rocco. Linda loved reminiscing about her memories with her children and grandchildren. She was baptized as a Methodist and attended Life Community Church with her daughter most recently.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her brother Sam Zanders.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James Kevin Pauley (Cathy); daughter, Janice Pauley-Moseley (Michael); sister, Sharon Moore (Ballard); grandchildren, Marley Pauley, Kaitlyn Fulkerson (Andy), Jamie Pauley, and Austin Pauley; Great-grandchildren, Linley Fulkerson, and Matthew Fulkerson; sister-in-law, Belinda Zanders; nieces and nephews, Reisa Dials, Scott Zanders and Delphia Johnson.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
