Linda Catherine Young Evans

Linda Catherine Young Evans, 63, of Owensboro passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at her home. Born in Daviess County on May 29, 1949, she was the daughter of then late Oliver and Grace Aldridge Young and was a homemaker. Mrs. Evans was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She enjoyed spending time with and caring for her grandchildren and her little dog. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Evans in 1990; a son, Paul Ray Epperson; and a sister, Mary Ruth Boling.

Surviving are her children, Cathy (Gary) Bishop, Herman (Stephanie) Evans, J.D. (Tammy) Evans, and Oliver Evans all of Owensboro; step-daughter, Barbara (Rick) Clark of Clarksville, TN; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Young, Delbert Young, Junior (Diane) Young and William "Buddy" (Wanda) Young all of Owensboro; and sisters, Janice Self and Nellie Morris of Owensboro.

Services are 12 noon Saturday, December 22, 2012 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Rob Alvey officiating followed by burial in New Bethel Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday.
