Linda Fay Douglas, 65, of Owensboro, earned her wings and went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Monday June 24, 2024, at River Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation in Evansville. She was born on March 13, 1959, in Owensboro, to the late Stella Arnold Riley. Linda was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. She earned her bachelor's degree from Brescia University and worked as a social worker.
Linda’s life touched many people in all walks of life with an open heart and she always held open arms. She wore many hats in life - blessing the world with her kindness by working with community children at the Boys & Girls Club; she also was an angel for many foster children. Linda wore her heart on her sleeve, always met life with a smile, praising the Lord, and always answered, “I’m blessed!” when asked how she was.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Douglas Sr.; siblings, Katy, Michael, John Brown, and Mary Emma.
Linda is survived by her children, Donald (Selina) Douglas Jr., Cedric Douglas, and Sheralle Douglas; grandchildren, Stephen, Caleb, Angel, Zoey, Trey, Kobe, Wisdom, Zeporah, and Isrell; siblings, Brenda, Esther, Kim, Truman, and Diane; bonus siblings, Lisa, Lori, and Jason; her best friends, Beverly Matthews, Stephanie Archie-Cobble, and Margo Delacey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The service to celebrate the life of Linda Douglas will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday July 1, 2024, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Nick Martin officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 2, 2024, at Rosehill Cemetery.
