Lily May Parks

Mrs. Lily May Parks, 88, of 5276 Ashland Ave., Owensboro, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at Leisure Years Nursing Home. She was born March 19, 1916, to the late Felix and Lillian Lanham, in Daviess County. She was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, enjoyed working with flowers, gardening and being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parks, Sr, who died in 1974; and a daughter, Betty Jean Perry, who died in 1998.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Parks, Jr., and David Parks, both of Owensboro, Hugh William Parks of Bee Bee, AR, Kenneth Lee Parks of Lafayette, GA; Three daughters, Mary Margaret St. Clair of Owensboro, Nancy Irene Townsend of Tulsa, OK, and Bonnie Rawls of AZ; 24 grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lucy Messamore of Morgantown, KY.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 7, 2004, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, and after 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
