Lilly Englert Wilson, 83, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, surrounded by her family at her home. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, a dedicated homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an associate member of the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph and a Benedictine oblate at St Meinrad Archabby in Indiana. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Hilary J. Englert, Sr. and Caroline Hayden Englert; son, Marian Wilson; sister, Martha Thompson; and brothers, Hilary J. Englert, Jr., Eugene R. Englert, and Joseph Englert.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jack R. Wilson, Sr; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Gardner (Rick) of Clarksville, IN, Colleen Lewis (Richard) of Traverse City, MI, and Sally A. Sanders (Steve) of Owensboro; sons, Jack R. Wilson, Jr., of Milton, FL, Michael J. Wilson (Teresa) of Utica and Blaise Wilson of Owensboro; brothers, Jack Englert, Robert (Bob) Englert, and Thomas Englert; sister, Betty Tichenor; sister-in-law, Colleen Rouse; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. Noon on Thursday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 2 until 8 on Wednesday and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Joseph Peace Mission or Hospice of Western Kentucky.
