Lillian M. Trenton

Lillian Trenton, 94, of the Hermitage, formerly of 1444 Brentwood Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Hancock Co., Ky. to the late Alfred Allen and Myrtle Mitchell Mason. She had owned and operated Lillians Beauty Shop for 50 years and had been a charter member of Ky. Affiliate #5 of the Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Assoc. Her goal was to be an elementary school teacher, but instead she enrolled in Cosmetology School in 1947 and graduated in 1948. While a member of the National Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Assoc., she won several awards including outstanding affiliate president and cosmetologist of the year. She also had served as treasurer on the Kentucky Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Assoc. board. She was also very involved and a member of the General Evan Shelby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a Ky. Colonel. She was a member of Third Baptist Church and and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also loved to ride horses and was a member of the Saddle Horses Assoc. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ben J. McKinley on April 8, 1965, her second husband, Michael J. Trenton on October 10, 1981, a daughter, Benita Faye McKinley on Feb. 12, 1936, and a son, James McKinley in 1937.

Surviving are her daughters, Dianne Mason McKinley and Margaret Rudd, both of Owensboro, five grandchildren, David Rudd and wife Jerri Ann, Debbie Chamberlain, Judy Head and husband Billy, Randy Rudd, and Carolyn Clark and husband Frank, 11 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren, a sister, Hazel M. Stephens of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 26, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
