Lillian Mae Sweat

November 10, 1910 — January 17, 2007

Lillian Mae Sweat of Owensboro, passed into life eternal on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 10, 1910 to the late Will and Maude Hawkins Faith in Daviess County. She was a 80 year member of First Baptist Church, where she taught the four-year old Sunday School Class for many years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed her roll of homemaker and her home reflected that joy. She was an avid antique collector, loved to travel and bargain shop. She was the first person to move into One Park Place and resided there for seventeen years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years and former City Commissioner, Tom Sweat in 1987, a brother, Robert Faith and a sister, Anna Wheeler.

Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Julius and her husband, Robert of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Cheryl Roberts and her husband, Kevin, and Jennifer Kirtley and her husband, Tim; four great-grandchildren, Chris and Brian Roberts, Jordan Brown and Jessica Kirtley.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, and after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boulware Center Mission, 731 Hall Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
