Lillian Moseley Patton

July 25, 1913 — July 28, 2006

Lillian Moseley Patton, 93, of Owensboro passed away Friday, July 28, 2006 at her home. Born March 25, 1913 in Ohio County, Mrs. Patton was the daughter of the late William Robert and Minnie Mae Dodson Moseley. She was a hairdresser and owned her own shop on West 9th Street before her retirement; was a active member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years; was a 60-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Acacia; and loved sports spending many hours watching baseball and the Kentucky Wildcats. She and her late husband Ellis spent many winters in Florida after their retirement. Mrs. Patton was also preceded in death by her only child, Minnie Lou; and was the last member of a family of two sisters, Cova Moseley and Ova Mae Hoagland, and seven brothers, Otis, Clyde, Claude, Marvin, Robert, Dodson, and Urey Moseley and half-brother, Archie Moseley.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Charles Moseley, W.C. Moseley, Margie Maxwell, Joan Royal, Edna Wade, Fred Hoagland, Virginia Moseley, Rena Fay Johnson, J.W. Moseley, Lois Mae Camp, Charlotte Hornback, Darlene Gendjar, Billy Moseely and Beverly Kay Mintchell; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Services are 11:30 A.M. Monday, July 31, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis McFadden officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 P.M to 6 P.M. Sunday and after 9 A.M. Monday. An Eastern Star service will be held at 5:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a favorite charity in honor of Mrs. Patton.
