Lillian Bristow Newton, 92, of Owensboro died Sunday, September 12, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born December 20, 1912, Mrs. Newton was the daughter of the late Robert and Tillie Husk Bristow. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a past Deputy Grand Regent of the Moose Lodge and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stirman Newton; two sisters, Essie Gunn and Thelma McCoy, and a brother, George R. Bristow.
Survivors include two nieces, Wanda and her husband William E. Libs of Owensboro and Garlean Cooper of Portland, TN; two great-nephews, Stirman and his wife Sue Libs of Owensboro and Wallace and his wife Sally Libs of Lewisburg, TN; a great-niece, Harriet and her husband Terry Weber of Wheeling, WV; and special friends, Mike and Gwen Raley and Don and Kay Thompson of Owensboro.
Funeral services are 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 P.M. on Tuesday and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Salvation Army.
