Lillian "Sister" Day, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on March 8, 1917 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late A. V. and Mary Edna Reid Day. Lillian was a member of First Christian Church where she had served as Secretary-Treasurer for the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was retired after 43 years with General Electric. She enjoyed watching Kentucky Wesleyan and University of Kentucky basketball. She was also preceded in death by her brother and sisters, J. R. Day, Edwina Tinius, Mildred Day, Marie Dawson, Allie Chambers, Tommie Waldrop, Hazel Izor, and Wilma Lee Day.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Pam Horton, Debby Crone, and Dr. Royce Dawson, all of Owensboro, Joanne Fiocchi of Lake Forest, IL, Dianne Motowicki of Wetumpka, AL, Dr. Tom Chambers of Orlando, FL, Dr. Bill Chambers of Biloxi, Miss., and Lisa Swiryd of Louisville, and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 Noon Monday, January 17, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 700 J. R. Miller Blvd., Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
