Lester Emil Schaick

Lester Emil Schaick, 96, of Owensboro passed away Friday, December 6, 2024, at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest. The Oshkosh, Wisconsin native was born August 29, 1928, to the late Alfred and Christina Loritz Schaick. Mr. Schaick learned drafting in high school which allowed him to design woodworking machinery. After moving to Owensboro in 1970, he became co-owner of Kenner-Schaick Inc. providing woodworking equipment to furniture manufacturing companies in the area. Lester was an avid golfer who achieved two hole-in-ones during his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, yardwork, gameshows, and the Green Bay Packers. Lester adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 In addition to his parents, Lester also was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jason O’Bryan and Jeff Lang; and brother, Wilbert Schaick. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 75 years, Helen Troxell Schaick; son, Tom Schaick (Tonya) of Westfield, IN; three daughters, Nancy Greenwell (Norbert) and Lynn O’Bryan both of Owensboro, and Susan Lang (Marty) of Hendersonville, TN; four grandchildren, Emily Kelly, Leslie Lang, Matt Schaick (Rafaela), and Amy Millay (Phillip); seven great grandchildren, McKensie Millay, Emma Millay, Charlie Kelly, Lucy Kelly, Sadie Kelly, Lucas Schaick and Stella Schaick; brother, Alfred Schaick; several nieces and nephews. 

 The memorial service will be at 4:30 pm, Tuesday, December 10 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 3:00 pm until the time of the service. 

 The family of Lester Schaick would like to express special thanks to the compassionate and caring staffs at Cedarhurst and Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest.
