Leslie T. Basham

Leslie T. Basham, 61, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Heartford House. He was born in Owensboro to the late J.T. and Claribel Basham.

Leslie had been employed by American Tobacco Company and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who especially enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Huff and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Basham.

Leslie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sheila Basham; a son, Jason Basham, Sr. (Amanda); a daughter, Sabrina Landon (Elijah); grandchildren, Jason Basham, Jr., Rachel and J.T. Basham, Destiny Landon and Jacob Basham; siblings, Hazel Givens (Benny); Jay Basham, Forrest Basham (Joyce), Nancy Martin (Earl), and George Basham (Sarah), all of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, February 8 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Hugh Wedding will officiate. Burial will be at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
