Lesa Steinhauer, 34, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, following a lengthy illness. Born in Madera, California, a daughter of the late Lester William Smith and Betty Lou Allgood Smith, Ms. Steinhauer had been a care provider for the developmentally disabled, volunteered at the Help Office and for the United Way, attended Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church, and enjoyed computer games, fishing, camping, dancing, and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Chuck Steinhauer; her daughter, Ashley Lynn Steinhauer, at home; her brothers, Lester Glenn Smith of Owensboro and Larry Allen Smith of Fresno, CA; her sister, Barbara Ann Smith, of Madera, CA; and several nieces and a nephew.
Services are at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. Friday until time of service.
