Leroy Falender, 79, of Owensboro, KY and Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on January 22, 1933 in Jefferson Co., KY to the late Ben and Bessie Levine Falender. He was retired from S. W. Andersons Dept Store after many years as a Security Guard. Leroy was an amazing husband, the most special person you could ever meet, and a friend to everyone. He was an avid photographer, and enjoyed shooting, fishing, watching Nascar, and was an automobile enthusiast. He loved vacationing and spending time with his friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Fayette Rose Falender Nichols.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Mary Helen Falender, a niece, Vickie Hall and her son, Israel Sostre, both of Louisville, a nephew, Allen Boyd and his son, Tristan Allen Boyd, both of Mt. Vernon, IN, and numerous loved ones and friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 3, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Fordsville (KY) Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
