Leonard Francis Reisz

Rev. Leonard Francis Reisz, 87, of Owensboro, died Thursday, February 17, 2011. Father Reisz was born in Daviess County on April 28, 1923. He was the son of the late William J. and Ella (Tong) Reisz. He was ordained a priest on May 30, 1950 in Owensboro. Since then he has ministered at various parishes in Western Kentucky. Survivors include sisters; Margaret Reisz Payne of Rockport, IN., Sister Mary Reisz, a Sister of Charity of Nazareth, KY., and Nancy Reisz Harpenau of Tell City, IN. Fr. Reisz was preceded in death by brothers; Anthony, Martin, Gregory, and Delbert Reisz, and sisters; Martha Reisz Snyder, and Joan Reisz.
Visitation for Fr. Reisz will be at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, in Owensboro, on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with a funeral mass held at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery, Chrisney, Indiana. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St.Vincent Depaul Charity in Owensboro.
