Leonard C. Goetz, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Owensboro Medical Health System surrounded by his family. Born in Daviess County on December 24, 1916, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bumm Goetz; was retired from Field Packing Co. after 36 years; was a devoted, charter member of Precious Blood Catholic Church; and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Goetz was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, enjoyed hunting and UK basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pauline McFadden Goetz 14 years ago.
He is survived by children, Martin Ray Goetz, Mike (Dora) Goetz and Linda Goetz Vowels of Owensboro, and Jerry ( Kathy) Goetz of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jason Goetz, Tina (Don) Troutman, Jeri Lynn (Kenny) McCarthy, and Jeremy Vowels all of Owensboro; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Margaret (Charles) Haywood of Owensboro.
Services are 10 A.M., Friday, August 29, 2008 at Precious Blood Catholic Church followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
