Leonard Lambert Cecil

Leonard Lambert ''Lambo'' Cecil, 65, of 5700 Ware Road, Philpot, died Thursday, September 12, 2002 at his home. He was born in Daviess County on December 24, 1936 the son of Louis Leonard and Rosa Mae Leibfried Cecil. A son, Michael Thomas Cecil, preceded him in death in 1964.

Mr. Cecil retired after 33 years as Captain in the Owensboro Fire Department. He had his own business, Cecil Yard Grading, for 30 years and also retired after 32 years on the board of directors of the Audobon Federal Credit Union. He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel and a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rose Ann Cecil; one son, Thomas Cecil of Livia; two daughters, Lorraine McNeal of Nashville, and Patty Kaelin of Sorgho; five grandchildren; four brothers, Howard Cecil of Reno, NV, T.J. Wedding of Clarksville, TN, Embert Wedding of Fl and Charlie Wedding of Owensboro; and a sister, Opal O'Seth of Portland, OR.

Funeral Services are 10 A.M. Monday, September 16, 2002 at the Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with entombment in the Resurrection Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 6 P.M. on Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. on Monday at the Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6 P.M. on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice Assocation.
