Leona Powers

Leona Powers, 89, of 755 Cantebury Rd., Owensboro, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006, at the Heritage Place. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Virgil & Rosa Church Evans. She was a homemaker and member of Seven Hills Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Powers on Nov. 10, 1988.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Helen Stewart and Faye Sissy Fulkerson, both of Utica, and Anna Merle Koenig of Marblehead, Oh., a son, William Bill Powers of Union, Ky., nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, at Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home.
