Leon B. Brown

Rev. Leon B. Brown, 78, of 2301 Carter Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born May 7, 1926 to the late Emmett E. and Mary Elizabeth Jones Brown in Daviess County. Mr. Brown retired from Yellow Cab Company, and Hon Company, was a member of the Church of the Living God; an Army veteran of World War II; and was involved in the League of Mercy ?Keenagers? Senior Citizens Program as a volunteer for the Salvation Army.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Wiggins, who died June 20, 2003.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ora Ethel Bartley Brown; six sons, Michael Williams, Forrest Taylor, Nevada Joseph Brown, all of Owensboro, David Brown of Jacksonville, FL, Leonard Brown of Hebron, OH, and Emmett Brown of Virginia; three daughters, Gloria Southard of Cromwell, Anna Marie Hardesty of Lillian, AL, Betty Sue Roof of Owensboro; 45 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Boyd Brown of Las Vegas, NV; and a sister, Marie Sauve of Golden, CO.

Funeral services are 12:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday and after 10:00 AM on. Friday at the funeral home.
