Lela Mae McKinley

Lela Mae McKinley, 92, of Owensboro, passed away May 7, 2017 at Wellington Parc. Lela was born in Ohio County on August 22, 1924 to the late Charlie McKinley and Ina Patton McKinley. Lela was a member of Bells Run Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Glenmore Distillery after working there for 42 years. Lela is preceded in death by a sister, Ava Hudson; brothers, Carl Patton McKinley, R.L. McKinley, Babe Ruth McKinley; nephew, Tommy Hardwick and best friend, Melvina Cravens.

She is survived by her niece, Pam Poole (Bob); great-nephew, Jeffrey Poole (Jennifer) and their children, Mary Ava and Jeffrey Jr. and a good friend and caregiver, Cyndi Heads.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
