Lawrence “Larry” E. Peters, 74, of Owensboro passed away in the early morning of Friday, April 10, 2026. The Henderson County native was born July 2, 1951, to the late James Gloyd Peters and Josie Marie Daniels Peters. Larry worked for Hazex Construction until his retirement in 2013. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching deer and hummingbirds that came into his yard. Larry raised a garden and made his own BBQ and deer jerky. He was generous and would do anything for his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry also was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Williams and his brothers, Kenneth Peters, Joey Peters, and Donald Peters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Bullington Peters; daughter, Laura Peters of Lexington, and his son, Eric Peters of Louisville; brothers, Ronald Peters (Sandy) and Eddie Peters; sister, Judith Newman; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 12 from 2:00 until 6:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial with military honors will be at 10:00 am Monday, April 11 in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery.
