Lawrence "L.L." Lindsey, 81, of Owensboro passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Owensboro Center. He was born November 21, 1935 to the late William McKinley and Betty Lindsey. Lawrence was a retired U.S. Army Veteran, retiring as a Sergeant First Class after 26 years of service. After retiring from the military, he earned his certification in heating and air and plumbing from Owensboro Vocational Technical School. Lawrence was an amazing cook and he enjoyed visiting flea markets. He worked at the Cliff Hagan's Boys Club for over 10 years where he shared his passion for cooking with those he served. Lawrence was of the Catholic Faith.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, George, Mike, William, Richard, and Thomas Lindsey; his sisters, Betty Babb, Florence Lindsey, and Velda Lindsey; his granddaughter, Robin Renae Luna; his grandson, Gregory Joseph Lindsey
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Lindsey of Owensboro; his sons, Lawrence Lindsey, Jr. (Patti) of Lansing, KS, Greg Lindsey of Owensboro, and Karl Lindsey of Owensboro; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren
The service will be 2PM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Bro. Tim Hall will officiate. Private burial will be held at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be 10AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
