Lavenna Rose Lile Basczinski, 78, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at her home. Born September 21, 1931 in Jefferson County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Thelma Arnett Lile; and was retired from J.B.'s Heating and Air Conditioning where she was the bookkeeper. Mrs. Basczinski enjoyed bowling, watching UK basketball, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Basczinski, a daughter, Debbie Aull, and a grandson Jeremy Martin.
Surviving are children, Cindy (and Louie) May of Owensboro, Linda (and Mike) Craven of Louisville; Bobby (and Ann) Back of Burlington, NC, and Steve Back of Frankfort; grandchildren, Christy (and Steve) Hoelscher, Mandy (and Sam) Hunt, Jennifer Back, Steve Martin (and Lisa Masters), and Eric May; 4 great-grandchildren; and a granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Martin.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in the Field of Honor at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Owensboro Catholic Schools.
