Laura Brooks Timms, 89, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Owensboro Place. Born in Daviess County on April 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Mattie Foster; was a homemaker; and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, William A. Brooks and Ralph Timms; sisters, Lillie Mae Barlow, Maude Hays, and Margaret Moseley; and a granddaughter, Robin Ellis.
Surviving are children, William A. Brooks, Jr. and his wife Margaret and Charles Arthur Brooks and his wife Carol both of Owensboro, Manie Ann Ellis and her husband Bob of Jacksonville, NC, and Janice Faye Baker and her husband Phil of Mesquite, NV.; grandchildren, Debbie Sanders and her husband Dale, Sherry Sangalli and her husband Steve, Connie Brooks, Bobby Ellis, Jr., Cindy Ellis, and Steven Ellis; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday February 18, 2011 in the Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no visitation on Friday.
