Laura Kay Rickard, 42, of Henderson, passed away July 12, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Laura was a 1992 graduate of Daviess County High School and attended cosmetology school. She enjoyed cooking and the outdoors, collecting arrowheads, and had a special fascination with campfires. A true free-spirit, she lived life to the fullest as a friend of everyone and a source of support and care for her fellow human-beings. Laura was a very well-respected production worker at Tyson Foods in Robards and a loyal supporter of W.A.R.M. in Henderson. Laura was an organ donor whose gift helped six people and saved four lives.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Zoso Rickard, Zevin Corbin Melton-Rickard, Zachrey Lee Melton-Rickard, Zane Wade Melton-Rickard, and Zander Tru Melton-Rickard, all of Henderson; her fiancé Jeffrey Melton, of Owensboro; her parents Barney Rickard of Owensboro and Debra Hanor of Cloverport; her grandmother Norma Jean Rickard of Owensboro; her brother Thad Shane Rickard of Cloverport; her brothers Charles Michael Hanor of Charleston, SC and Kyle Ray Hanor (Bethany) of Cloverport and James Frank Hanor (Scarlet) of Clarksville, TN ; her sister Jennifer Rickard of Owensboro, and her aunts and uncles Karen and Jim Reynolds of Newburgh, and Sheila Calloway, Randy and Sherry Rickard, and Richard Rickard, all of Owensboro.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Owensboro Christian Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 12:00 noon at the church.
