Mrs. Martin was a member of Dawson Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter, having made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren, with those for her great-grandchildren in progress. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thomas Martin in 1977, a son, Jerry Lindsey Martin in 1981, a grandson, Michael Gabbert in 2004, her sisters, Juanita H. Lyons, Maxine Lancaster Carrico, and Frankie Mae Howard, and her brother, Nathaniel Lyons.
