Larry "Squirrel" Stephen Wirth

Larry “Squirrel” Stephen Wirth, 74, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Larry was born June 24, 1952, to the late Joseph and Shirley Hendrix Wirth. Larry was a hardworking man dedicating more than 45 years of his life to the trucking industry. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He will be remembered as someone family and friends could always count on to lend a helping hand, no matter what they needed.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, David Louis Wirth.

Larry is survived by his wife of twenty years, Ruth Ann and her children; Scott McIntosh of Cumming, GA, Jennifer (Brian) Carroll of Marietta, GA; Melissa McIntosh of Owensboro, and Holly (Justin) Hykes of Columbus, OH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Andrew (Jasmine) McIntosh, Caitlin Gillihan, Jeremy McIntosh, Dean Hykes, and Shelby Hykes; and his great-grandson, Drew.

Larry is also lovingly remembered by his siblings; Terri Waltrip of Lexington, KY, Marion “Dukie” Tabor of Middlebury, IN, Patti (Doug) Greenwell of Greenville, SC, and Carol Parker of Midway, KY; as well as several nieces and nephews.
