Larry Ray Pointer

Larry Ray Pointer, 70, of Owensboro passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born on March 14, 1941 in Central City, he was the son of the late Clifford and Juanita Whitehouse Pointer; attended Faith Lutheran Church; and was retired from Bill's Transmission where he was an auto mechanic. Mr. Pointer enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, NASCAR and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Joyce C. Motteler Pointer in February 2011; a son, Larry Allen Pointer, and brothers, Terry, William, Tony, and Ronnie Pointer.

Surviving are daughters, Kimberly (William) McDaniel and Cindy (Jason) Gough all of Owensboro; a son, Tim (Shelena) Pointer of Maceo; a step-daughter, Jonlyn (Johnny) Blake; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Steve ( Winnie) Pointer of Grandview, IN, Michael (Jeannie) Pointer and Wayne Pointer of Owensboro, and Jeff Pointer of Arkansas; sisters, Karen (Frank) Hein and Marsha Martin of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
