Larry B. Magan, 79, of Owensboro passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Daviess County native was born August 25, 1946, to the late Charlie Wallace Magan and Mary Bell Gordon Magan. Larry graduated from Daviess County High School with the class of 1964. He grew up working on the farm with his brother. Larry assisted customers from behind the counter at Gipe Automotive for over 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed deer hunting and working on cars. Larry and his nephew, Keith Magan, who was more like a brother, would often attend car shows in his 1950 Chevy. After it was totaled, he would take his 1965 Thunderbird. Larry was a long-standing member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Larry also was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Rose Coleman, Wallace Coleman Magan, and Brady Magan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 59 years, Charlene Wilson Magan; daughter, Pamela Barron and her husband, Tony of Murray; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Tony Williams; brother-in-law, David “Bo” Wilson.
The funeral service for Larry Magan will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 21st at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
