Larry E. Lanham

Larry E. Lanham, 92, of Utica passed on from this life to the next on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born in Ohio County and lived most of his life in Daviess County. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the co-founder of Lanham Brothers General Contractors. He loved Central Florida and owned homes there over the years with his wife of 72 years, Jeannette Lanham. They were members of Calvary Baptist church and attended Red Hill Baptist Church. Larry loved shopping at flea markets, growing vegetables and caring for his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannette, his eldest son, Larry Gene Lanham, his brother, Leonard Ray Lanham, a sister, Clara Catherine Lanham and his mother and father, Edna and Jonas Lanham.

He is survived by Larry Gene Lanham's widow Judy White, a daughter Gayle Dennis and her husband Bill, two sons David R. Lanham and his wife Brenda, and Dan Lanham and his wife Nancy. Larry is also survived by ten grandchildren, Kelly Westbrook and her husband Mike of Marietta, GA, Spencer Dennis, Angie Moseley and her husband Danny, Mandy Dennis, Ashley Dennis of Chicago, IL, Chris Lanham, Andy Lanham and his wife Kristi, Claire Lanham, Wes Lanham and Logan Lanham. Also surviving are four great grandchildren Austin and Tyler Westbrook of Marietta, GA, Justin Moseley and Kash Lanham.

Services are at 10:00 AM Saturday July 30, 2011 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. Brother Tim Roberts will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Friday and after 9:00 AM on Saturday.
