Larry Eugene Hudson, 60, of Owensboro, Kentucky, lost his courageous battle with cancer Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Warren County, Kentucky on February 24, 1950, to Donald Eugene and Inez Neighbors Hudson. He served in the National Guard and worked for North American Phillips Lighting for 15 years before co-founding and co-owning Hudson Manufacturing and Machine Shop for 25 years. Mr. Hudson was a member of Glenville Baptist Church. Mr. Hudson was a participant in many events at the Kentucky Motor Speedway for over 17 years. He enjoyed spending his weekends at Camp Hudson on Rough River Lake, he was an avid fisherman, squirrel hunter, and NASCAR fan. He was a loving family man and a proud new grandfather to Lawson.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Loveda Ann Hudson; his son, Lee Eugene Hudson and his wife Melinda of Owensboro; brother, Willie Hudson and his wife Lisa of Owensboro; sister, Donna Mason and her husband Robert of Henderson; his parents, Donald Eugene and Inez Neighbors Hudson of Bowling Green; his grandmother, Anna Neighbors Jameson of Bowling Green; his grandson, Lawson Eugene Hudson of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sorgho, Kentucky.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice of Western Kentucky.
