Larry Lee Ferguson

Larry Lee Ferguson, 63, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born April 25, 1946 in Owensboro, he was the son of the late Buell and Nola Chapman Ferguson; was retired from the Daviess County Schools; was a Kentucky Colonel and Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Ferguson loved being with his family; watching sports, especially the New York Yankees and the UK Wildcats; and playing his guitar and listening to country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bernie Ferguson, Sr., Glenn Ferguson, Durwood Ferguson, and Kenneth Ferguson and sisters, Dean Lyons, Goldie Clayton, and Marjorie Brumley.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Sue Ballard Ferguson; children, Tammy Ferguson and Greg Ferguson (and fiance' Misty and her daughter, Baily) of Owensboro; a brother, Johnie Ferguson of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Ada Marie Stinnett and Dorothy Lucille Stinnett of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are 12 noon Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dale Calloway officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by VFW Post 696, will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family thanks Dr. Michael Jarvis and his staff for their wonderful, considerate care of Larry.
