Larry Wayne Edge

Larry Wayne Edge, 46, family man, outdoors man and friend, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at his home in Philpot, following an illness of some time. Larry was born in Daviess County, one of eight children of Robert L. Edge and Lillian Howard Edge of Knottsville. He worked as an information technology help desk supervisor at Century Aluminum and was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Larry's enthusiasm for anything that fired a projectile was matched only by his passion for hunting most anything that moved, with his favorites narrowed down to the bow for turkey and deer. A craftsman, he was adept at woodworking, making knives, and building ships in bottles. Warm and outgoing, Larry was a skilled grill master, using that talent as a reason for the gatherings of family and friends he enjoyed so much. He was preceded in death by his father in 2000.

In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife Angela "Anji" Bittel Edge; his children, Sarah (Jordan) Murphy, of Owensboro, and Jacob Edge, Jonah Edge, and Levi Edge at home in Philpot; and his brothers and sisters, Sheila (Russell) Roby of Owensboro, Sandra (Larry) Higdon and Mary Jean (Ricky) Payne, all of Knottsville, Robert L. "Rob" (Kathy) Edge and Clarence (Mary) Edge, all of Philpot, Frank (Laura) Edge of Newburgh, IN and Vicki (Tom) Jones of Owensboro.

The funeral service for Larry will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
