Larry Gene Crisp, 70, of Panther, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Owensboro health Regional Hospital. He was born March 19, 1944 in Daviess Co., KY to the late James and Elizabeth Coons Crisp. Early in Larry's career, he had been the crew chief for the Red Man Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Team. He also had been the Regional Director for construction and maintenance for the Kentucky State Parks in the western part of the state. In 2013, he retired as co-owner, with his son, from C & C Construction Company after 27 years. He also was a Kentucky Colonel, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, competitive shotgun shooting, playing Texas Hold Em, and spending time with his family and all his breakfast buddies.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Frey Crisp, his son, Steve Crisp and wife Stacy of Panther, his daughter, Kim Crisp Wells of Owensboro, three grandchildren, who brought much joy, laughter, headaches, and many engaging conversations, Zachary Crisp, Carri Crisp, and Jacob Wells, brother, "Big" Steve Crisp and wife Carol of Owensboro, sisters, Teri Akers and husband Pat of Salt Lake City, Utah and Beth Howell and husband Mike of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
