Larry D. Cox

Larry D. Cox, 57, of Owensboro, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born August 12, 1951, to Dean and Anna Gaddis Cox in Daviess County. He had worked at Texas Gas, was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, North American Hunters Association, BASS, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, coin collecting and hunting for arrowheads. He was a gunsmith and a 1969 graduate of Owensboro High School.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Cox in 2002, and his brother, Bobby Cox in 2004.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Patricia Roark Cox; his children, Carol Ware of Owensboro, Caryn Cox of Florence, KY, and John Cox and his wife, Laura of Hartford; two grandchildren, Lexie Ware and Ashley Ware; his father, Dean Cox of Winter Park, FL; his sister, Becky Crabtree and her husband, Dennis of Winter Park, FL, a sister-in-law, Shirley Garner of Murfreesboro, TN; his mother-in-law, Rena Roark of Owensboro, a brother-in-law, Terry Roark and his wife, Mary Lee of Owensboro, and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Hardin, and her husband, Robert of Franklin, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and after 8:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
