Larry M. Boling

Larry M. "Ell-Bee" Boling, 56, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Louisville to the late Myrvin and Mary Boling.

Ell-Bee was a mechanic by trade. He founded Ell-Bee Towing which he owned and operated for nearly 25 years before turning it over to his son, Patrick. He had previously been employed by McCarty's (15 years) and Fischer's Key Stop. Ell-Bee also provided wrecker service to local race tracks for many years, as he had a great love for racing. He was a longtime member of Boling Chapel United Methodist Church. Ell-Bee enjoyed restoring cars in the shop at his home, his Bassett Hounds, Yorkie and all things "Duck Dynasty".

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Terry Wayne Boling in 1964 and a nephew, Andy Boling in 1989.

Ell-Bee is survived by his wife, Leslie; sons, Steven Boling (Heather), Patrick Boling (Laura), and Dustin Brown (Whitney), all of Owensboro; daughters, Olivia and Krystal Knight of Owensboro; step-son, Jeremy Richey of Owensboro; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jase, Jaxson, Libby and Sophie; sister, Susan Shown(Kevin) of Owensboro; brother, Mike Boling (Vicki) of Lewisport; nephews, Chris, Matt and Jesse; many close friends and family.

The funeral service will be at 2 PM on Sunday at Boling Chapel United Methodist Church. Byron McManaway and Rev. Kevin McGee will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-8 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may also visit at the church after 1 PM on Sunday.
