Larry Eugene Adkisson, Sr., 91, of St. Joseph, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, July 3, 2026 at Cedarhurst Senior Living. He was born in Delaware, Kentucky to the late James Louis and Mary Lee Adkisson.
Larry married the love of his life, Peggy Nan (Glenn) Adkisson, on October 30, 1952 and they were blessed with three children.
He started farming alongside his grandfather at a very young age, later starting 4 Quarter Farms with his brother, son and son-in-law. Larry loved to hunt and fish. He grew up on the banks of the Green River and lived his entire life within it’s boundary. He was especially good at quail hunting and training dogs, having won numerous awards. He really treasured quail hunting trips to South Dakota with good friend, Joe Schaber.
Larry was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and had served as a deacon of Curdsville Baptist Church as a younger man.
