Lanny W. Tyler

Lanny W. Tyler, 69, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Daviess County to the late Rollie A. and Virginia R. Hinton Tyler.

Mr. Tyler was most recently employed by First Class Trucking where he took pride in maintaining trucks for more than 15 years. He also spent more than 10 years as a boilermaker for Titan Contracting.

God, family and work served as the roadmap for Lanny’s life. He was recently Baptized in the Catholic faith. Although he had some interests and pastimes, in recent years, he was pretty faithful about getting his naps in!

In addition to his parents, Lanny was preceded in death by a sister, Rollie “Lou” Toomey in 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Tyler; sons, Brian Tyler and his children, Madison Mattingly and Madelyn Tyler and Joshua Tyler (Megan) and their children, Emma and Nolan Tyler; a sister, Susie Locher and four nieces.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 12 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Cemetery.
