Lanny Ray Stinnett

November 13, 1942 — June 24, 2011

Lanny Ray Stinnett, 68, of Maceo, Kentucky died Friday, June 24, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Stinnett is a retired member of Boilermaker Local 40 after 35 years, the American Legion Post 9 and a lifetime member of the DAV. Mr. Stinnett served in the US Navy from 1963-1967 aboard the USS Essex. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking, and anything mechanical; he was passionate about the restoration of cars, motorcycles, tractors and heavy equipment. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Allen and Evea Elizabeth Sweeny Stinnett and a brother, Max Stinnett.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Stinnett; son, Lee Allen Stinnett and his wife Diane of Hartford, KY; a brother, Bruce Stinnett (Sandra) of Maceo; a sister, Sue Toler
of Maceo; nieces and nephews, Lisa Ling (Danny) of Whitesville, Beth Mullins (Basil) of Lewisport, Max Todd Stinnett of Manhattan, KS, Lisa Bryant (Jerry) of Fountain Run, KY, Stephanie Bivins of Maceo, Trey Anderson (Cindy), David Anderson, and Jana Lindsey (Billy) all of Fort Gaines, GA.

Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Stinnett Family Cemetery in Maceo, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
