Lachhmibai Khetaram Maheshwari, 74, peacefully passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 in her second home, Owensboro, KY. She was born March 15, 1942 in the small town of Kantio, Pakistan to the late Mangharam and Aambabai Chowdhary. She moved to Modasa, India in 1998, along with family.
Lachhmibai was the beloved wife of Khetaram Maheshwari for last 61 years. With her demise a brave and beautiful chapter has come to its completion. Lachhmibai was undoubtedly a very strong woman and was symbol of resilience and grit who was responsible for success of all her ten children. From a village with humble means and living in poverty to becoming a success story with happiness and prosperity, credit only goes to her.
Lachhmibai was a devoted mother of Alam, Dasrat, Mandovari, Jewari, Bhawani, Ram of India, Hiralal of Crystal Lake, IL, Pushpa of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dilip of Bermuda and Jewraj Maheshwari of Owensboro, KY. She was doting and loving grandmother and great-grand mother of 35 children.
Lachhmibai is also survived by her sister, Godhavari, and brothers, Mohan lal, Arjan Kumar and Nandlal.
Traditional Hindu rituals and prayers, followed by a short time of visitation, will take place at 8:30 am Sunday, September 11, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Cremation will follow.
