L. H. Latham, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011, at his home. He was born on January 22, 1924 in Muhlenburg Co., Ky. to the late John Henry and Lola Wells Latham. He was retired as a Purchasing Manager with Texas Gas after 33 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he had been a trustee and deacon and also the Owensboro Masonic Lodge #130 F & AM. Over the past few years, L. H. had stayed mainly at home caring for his wife of 67 years. He was also preceded in death by a sister Glendean Cumberledge.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Nell Latham, two sons, Stuart Latham and wife Carla of Owensboro and Scott Latham and wife Kathy of Louisville, a daughter, Suzanne Carter and husband David of Asheville, N. C., five grandchildren, Lindsay Carter, Joshua Latham and wife Elizabeth, and Julia Lloyd and husband Chris, all of Louisville, Cameron Latham and Hope Latham, both of Owensboro, and two great grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Latham and Grayson Lloyd.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 31, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 12 Noon Monday at the funeral home.
