Kevin Lewis Philpott

Kevin Lewis Philpott, 52, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Owensboro Regional Health Hospital. Born in Owensboro, Kevin graduated from Apollo High School where he played football and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College where he played on the first team of the new KWC football era. He was devoted to his family and the time he spent with his grandsons. A sports fan, Kevin was a committed follower of high school and college football, professional football but only the Green Bay Packers, and NASCAR but only #20 Matt Kenseth. His flair for life infected everyone around him. His work in all phases of construction focused on the maintenance and rehabilitation of family rental properties. Kevin was a member of First Assembly of God. His father Harold Philpott and his grandson Kaleb Lewis Kost preceded him in death in 2014.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Michele Philpott; his mother Linda Brackett Philpott; his best friend and partner in crime Kristie Crawford; those special grandsons Kamryn and Jaydn Kost; his brother, Steve Philpott and his wife Ann Woolwine-Philpott; his aunt Tena Humphrey and her husband Carl; and his niece and nephews Sierra Philpott, Austin Philpott, and Grayson Philpott.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Deliverance Christian Center, where visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Assembly of God or Deliverance Christian Center.
