Kenneth L. Watkins

Rev. Kenneth L. Watkins, 77, of Mammoth Springs, AR, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, MO. He was born April 23, 1933 to the late Leo and Elizabeth Stites Watkins in Philpot. He was a member of the Ark Isle of Faith Church, a missionary minister of Jamaica, West Indies, a member of the George G. Hayes Foundation, a Kentucky Colonel, and an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Watkins in 2003, his wife, Mary Watkins in 2007, and his step-daughter, Vickie Walters.

Survivors include his companion, Phyllis Simpson of Owensboro, a son, Del Watkins of Cloverport; 4 daughters, Marcia Watkins of Richmond, Barbara E. Campbell of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Beth Watkins of Richmond, and Keni Ford of Cloverport; 3 step-children, Sharon Harley of Owensboro, Pam Hawk of Henderson, and Tim Stone of Owensboro; fifteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Mudd of Cox's Creek and Doris Jean Adams of Owensboro, a brother, Melvin Whilhite of Cromwell.

Services will be 12:00 PM Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with burial in Bethabara Cemetery, with Military Honors by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, and after 10:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Galilean Children's Home, P.O. Box 880, Liberty, KY 42539.
