Kenneth "Kay" Reynolds, 88, of Owensboro, closed his eyes to this life and opened them again to see the face of Christ. Kay passed away on August 6, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital at 4:00pm. He was born on October 14, 1925 in McLean County to the late Thomas Roger and Lucy Phillips Reynolds.
Kay served in the US Army during World War II as a Staff Sargent and Sharp Shooter. He was very proud to have served during the war at the same time as his brothers Coy, Tom, and Tot. Kay was a wonderful husband, daddy, and papaw and would do anything that he could do for his family. Kay was a charter member of Pleasant Valley Community Church and loved it with a passion.
In addition to his parents, Kay is preceded in death by his sisters, Lois Stinett, Tina Martin, and Francis Hendley Epley; and brothers, Roy Reynolds, Coy Reynolds, and Thomas Reynolds Jr.
Kay is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joline "Jo" Spencer Reynolds and brother Forrest "Tot" Reynolds and his wife Marcell. His legacy lives on in his three children, Paula Horn and her husband Mike, Teana Abernathy and her husband Jeff, and Steven Reynolds and his wife Peggie; grandchildren, Brandyn Smith, Johnna Hendricks, Drew Horn, Kayla Walker, and Matthew Reynolds; and great-grandsons, Jacob Ray and Kaysin Hendricks.
Services will be at 2pm on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home.
