Kenneth “Ken” Paul Raley, Senior, 87, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, while under the care of Heartford House. Born on August 3, 1937, in Owensboro, he was the son of Bernard Thomas Raley and Ethel Mae Raley. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ken was a short order cook, gardener, ASE certified auto mechanic and a self-taught guitarist. He dedicated his professional life to education as a Cooperative Coordinator at Owensboro Vocational School before retiring. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he was a eucharistic minister, lector, and usher. In his leisure time, Ken enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and the occasional trip to “the boat.”
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years, Dorothy Williams Raley in 2016 and his siblings, Eunice Williams, Marie Bratcher, Joseph “JW” Raley, George Raley, and Anne Jane Raley.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margie Raley; two sons, Kenneth Paul Raley Jr. (Loretta) of Atlanta, GA, Anthony Lynn Raley (Lisa) of Louisville and a daughter, Kimberly Riney (Dan) of Owensboro and his sister, Imogene Massimino of East Haven, CT and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth’s legacy continues through his six grandchildren: Kenneth Paul Raley III (Ashley), Nathan Raley (Wei), Sean Raley (Izuho), Katelyn Travis (Dakota), Aaron Raley (Kennedy), and Abbie Riney (Alex). He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Halle, Avery, Winnie, Remi, Rowan, Olive and a seventh great-granddaughter due in August.
A funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm with prayers at 6:30 pm and Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
