Kenneth B. Knight

Kenneth B. Knight, 78, of Owensboro, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born April 5, 1931 to the late Frank and Ammanda Roberts Knight in Muhlenberg County. He retired from Whirlpool after 40 years of service and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a long time member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, AM-VETS, Eagles Club, Masonic Lodge and enjoyed watching UK basketball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with friends and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Ray Knight and James Allen Knight, and two brothers, Bill Knight and Norman Knight.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Judy P. Knight; his sons, Kenneth (Rachel) Knight, Jr. of St. Mary's, GA, and Scott Whobrey of Philpot, and his friend Sherry Douglas and her son, Levi Douglas of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Matt and Luke Whobrey, Jason and Rachel Knight; one great-granddaughter, Emily Taylor; his sisters, Adelene (James) Wilson of Hendersonville, TN, and Judy (Jerry) Divine of Owensboro; a sister-in-law, Ann Knight of Central City; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, with Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be after 10:00 AM on Tuesday. Military Honors will be given at the gravesite by VFW Post 696.
