Kenneth "Ken" E. Hamilton Sr.

Kenneth “Ken” E. Hamilton Sr., 80, of Mc Daniels, KY, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2024, at his home. He was born May 6, 1944, in St. Lawrence KY, to the late Herbert and Mary Willie Long Hamilton. Ken spent 25 years as the owner/operator of Hamilton Construction, from 1978-2003, earning a great reputation as a builder. He served in the United States Navy, earning the rank of Boatswain's Mate Petty Officer 1st Class (BM1). Ken loved being a part of his community in Mc Daniels KY. He enjoyed camping, gardening and time spent traveling out west. Ken also dearly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Hamilton; siblings, Harold Hamilton, Francis Hamilton, James Hamilton, Dorothy Hardesty, and Joann Cecil. 

Ken is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia Mattingly Hamilton; children, Will (Abbye) Payne, Samm (James) Chamberlain, Christy (Derek) Banks, Kenneth (Julie) Hamilton Jr., Lori (Keith) Howard, and Patrisha Severs (Randall); step-children, Dana Cundiff and Tracy Hamilton; 16 grandchildren; special grandsons, Dakota Mason and Levi Payne; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 5 step grandchildren; siblings, Donald Hamilton, Alan (Dee) Hamilton, Jeanette (Fred) Dillingham, Jane Lanham, Betty (Larry) Johnson, and Shirl (Terry) Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass for Ken Hamilton will be at 10 a.m. Monday December 30, 2024, at St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville Ky. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday, with prayers at 5:30 p.m. and also from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. on Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The burial will be in St. William Cemetery.
