Kenneth Burns

Kenneth "Kenny" Burns, 75, of Philpot, was surrounded by his loving family as he went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2015. Kenny was born in Daviess County on November 21, 1939 to the late William Anderson and Katherine Webb Burns. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was also a member of the Church's cooking team. Kenny retired from National Southwire Aluminum after a long career. Following his retirement Kenny ran a bread route for local charitable organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul and the Pitino Shelter. You could often find Kenny socializing with one of his three coffee groups or walking at the mall with his "Rat Pack". Kenny's family included in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and he always had time for them all. Most of all Kenny loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Kenny is preceded in death by the love of his life, Patricia Ann Payne Burns, to whom he was married for 56 years; 2 sisters, 4 brothers and a great grandson, Taylor Wayne Burns.

Survivors include his children, Kenneth Wayne (Barbara) Burns, Bruce (Ann) Burns, Robbie "Roundman" (Kim) Burns, Lisa (Ottaway) Burns-Kirby, and Tamara "Tami" (Don) Burns; grandchildren, Little Kenny (Angela) Burns, Chris (Jenny) Burns, Forrest (Amanda) Burns, Kurt Burns, Cassi (Justin) Brashear, Nick Burns, Cody Burns, Justin Hamilton, Randi Burns, Wesley "Scooter" Burns, Haley Burns, and Kaitelynn Burns-Kirby.

The funeral mass will be 12:00 noon Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father Julian Ibemere officiating. Visitation will be from 11 am until 8 pm on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers at 6 pm. Visitation on Friday will be from 8:30 until 11:30 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery
